Has anyone used Toast.net and/or Copper.net? If so how do their services compare as far as quality (line drops, busy signals etc.) , connection speed, features offered and customer service? I've used Toast.net and enjoyed it but Copper.net seems to have some of the same things at the same low rate ($9.95 a month) and both have no start-up fees or contracts. I already have GMail so don't really need another address.

I'm bringing this topic back because I'll be in Atlantic City for a week and am not sure if the hotels have wireless. Even if they do, they might charge for their use. But if I remember correctly, if you call a local number on their phone, there's no charge. So I'm thinking of signing up with one of these companies for at least a month so that I can have internet access. Plus, if it's really good, I can keep it around as a spair, either to try on my DOS machine or to use when Verizon Fios goes out, which it actually did the other day. So any thoughts or experiences?

It's been quite awhile since I've posted to this thread, and quite honestly, I'm really getting annoyed with Fios. It's wonderful most of the time, but several times this week, it either stopped working or was extremely low. Yesterday, for example, the signal kept going from low to off. So I would really like to get a dialup service as a backup and would like to know which is the bst. I'm also about to purchase a usb 56k, V92-90 voice, fax and data modem to use with my netbook. Any help would be appreciated.
